The Pad - Santa Barbara

Still in the works - but there are some hitches....

Unfortunately we have some news.

We will not be going into the location we previously advertised – thanks to the changing lending conditions thanks to COVID and also because Santa Barbara, notoriously hard to work with – which has kept us out of the area for 10 years, had issues with the roof raise after all.

The cost to mitigate the stormwater conditions placed on us made it impossible.

We are STILL COMING. We are in talks with multiple locations, but it will take time.

We see this as a silver lining. We did NOT want to go in so close to SBRG and while we believe our presence can help everyone, including them, being on top of them wasn’t ideal.

We’ll let you know as soon as there’s confident movement. We are still fundraising, but have enough to move forward – just not at that location.

We are still pursuing a location and in discussion with new locations.

This is a good thing! We did not want to end up in downtown for a myriad of reasons and this offers us a better opportunity to serve the community!

This is our previous design for a different location.
While every space differs, the layout and design style is expected to remain the same. Expect the same design style that you have seen from our SLO location with tall bouldering, a mix of steep angles going back into low angles to encourage everyone to climb together, great use of space, and creative details to delight.
