The Pad Henderson Open House Feb 12 1-5pm

  • Why: We’d like to reintroduce ourselves and our partners to the greater Henderson and Las Vegas community

Henderson, NV –  The Pad Henderson, formerly known as Origin Climbing + Fitness, is throwing an Open House for the greater Henderson and Las Vegas community. After a change of ownership and weathering the challenges of the pandemic, they’re opening their doors to anyone who might be curious to see why climbing is for everyone. A sport where everyone starts at the bottom and finds themselves cheered to the top – climbing can elevate anyone seeking community, personal fitness goals, and adventure.

Saturday, February 12th from 1-5 pm, The Pad hopes to show visitors and members alike our always free climbing equipment rentals, visit with local vendors and artists like Dough to Door and Oasis Pottery.

Our community partners showcase, including Big Brothers Big Sisters, The Cupcake Girls, The Phoenix, Code Switch, Friends of Nevada Wilderness, Las Vegas Foster Families, and Las Vegan Food Pantry, will be supporting participants in fun climbing-related games with a raffle ticket earned or trying each activity. Everyone who brings a nonperishable food item for our food drive will also get a raffle ticket. Prizes include a FREE annual membership and a FREE American Alpine Institute guided outdoor climb, along with additional prizes.

Games include: 

  • Cornhole tournament – bracket-style tournament
  •  Sign up with community partner at the beginning of the tournament
  • Dyno comp – Participants will jump dynamically to large holds.
  • Treadwall competition – how long can you stay on our treadmill climbing wall?
  • Slack line dodgeball – how far can you go while being pelted with dodgeballs?

If discovering indoor rock climbing’s been on the bucket list, or you’ve thought you weren’t the type to try it, there’s no excuse on February 12th, because it’s free! Participants are highly encouraged to fill out waivers at ThePadClimbing.org before attending to skip lines and enjoy the full experience. Rope climbing will only be available to those already certified to use the equipment.
